How We Test AI Tools | XAIAgent Methodology

Every tool is scored 1–5 across six weighted criteria. Scores are reviewed and updated quarterly, or sooner if a product ships a significant update.

Ease of use (20%) — time and steps from signup to a usable draft site

AI features (20%) — relevance and quality of AI-produced layout, copy, and images

Design quality (15%) — visual polish and breadth of starting templates

Customization (15%) — flexibility to edit beyond the initial AI output

Pricing value (15%) — features delivered relative to cost at each published tier

Business value (15%) — features aimed at real business needs (booking, local SEO, hosting, etc.)

What we do

We create trial accounts and generate real sites or outputs using each tool's free or entry-level tier wherever one exists. We compare the results against the vendor's own marketing claims and against every other tool in the same category using identical inputs where possible.

What we don't do

We don't accept payment in exchange for a higher score. We don't publish fabricated user statistics, fake testimonials, or invented review counts. Where we have a financial relationship with a product (see our disclosure), we say so directly rather than leaving it implied.
